I’m a proud Latina from Los Angeles, raised on Lakers basketball and the women’s game by a girl-dad who’s always been my #1 fan, and a mom who taught me to lead with my heart. It all started in my grandparents’ backyard, playing basketball until the sun went down, hitting buzzer beaters, and perfecting the “English” off the glass. It’s where I fell in love with the game. I didn’t know what doors it would open, what barriers it would break, or just how far 94 feet could stretch.

While my path didn’t unfold exactly how I expected, from tearing my ACL and going the JUCO route, it’s taken me exactly where I need to go... developing the kind of resilience born through adversity. After earning a degree in Mathematics, I built a career at the intersection of analytics, video, and player development, with stops at the Golden State Warriors, Cal Berkeley, and Penn State. I now support coaching staffs as a Data Analyst and Assistant Director of Operations at HD Intelligence.

What I love about this work is the bridge between things that often get treated as separate: data and feel, video and instinct, numbers and the players they evaluate. The best work I’ve been part of has been with those who don’t choose between these elements but consider them all. It’s a way of seeing the game from a more honest and complete lens; it’s what I’ve found makes the work worth doing.

The game gave me everything – my work ethic, my character, my community, and my purpose. I'm not sure I can ever fully repay it, but I'd like to spend my career trying... supporting programs and players the right way: with care, with rigor, with the understanding that wins matter, but people matter more. And while the industry may not always work that way, I do. That's how I show up, how my work is informed, and how I set the standard.
