Tip-off
It's hard to believe college basketball is already here. As several games tip off today, I'm reminded how blessed I am to still be around this game, one I've dedicated so much of my life to. There's nothing like waking up to coffee in hand and games already underway. I love it!
The rhythm of the game, the pace of November, the anticipation that builds at practice and in the film room waiting for that season opener… I know the feeling all too well. I remember that mix of nerves and readiness, knowing months of work are about to be tested. The role might be different, but the feeling is the same.
There's a whole lot of work that happens before tip-off, and most of it never makes the broadcast. Every shot, every defensive rotation, every adjustment a coach makes from the bench: all of it is built on hours and weeks and months of preparation. That's where I come in. Putting together scouting reports. Sitting in on game prep meetings. Taking the calls when something's on a coach's mind. All the work that happens before the lights come on.
I get to work with incredible staffs and coworkers who share that same love for the game, and frankly, it just doesn't get much better than that. Excited for another season to unfold and to keep learning, growing, and finding new ways to make an impact. Let's get it!
